This year Squishy’s teacher wanted a low key party. No candy. Just a few yummies. Home made Valentine’s cards. We had parents sign up for fruits and treats but I wanted to add a little something else and offered to make small sandwiches. I’d likely do PB&J if I was making these for my kiddos, but since there are so many little ones with allergies out there, I just used some yummy spread on these ones.
I started off by cutting the crust off of two slices at a time. It looks nicer without it, and I also know there are lots of picky kiddos out there.
Once that was done I separated the pieces and cut one in half. (My first batch I cut last and it warped the hearts) Then I put spread on the uncut half and used small cookie cutters to punch a heart from the cut side. I used one from This Set
Finally I put the pieces of bread together and cut through the bottom piece.
Fairly quick and easy. A sweet alternative to the cupcakes, cookies, and candy! ❤
