Vacation Planning is My Happy Place

Making dining reservations, researching hotels, buying tickets, making a budget, pricing things out.  To some people these might seem like irritating chores, but to me, it sounds like a good time.  I LOVE planning vacations.  Like a lot.  Probably not a normal amount.

I’m realizing this now as our vacation goals are temporarily on hold.  It’s hard to plan ahead when we don’t know if we’ll have a foster placement.  And even when we do get a placement, there is always the chance that we would’t be able to take them too far.  Of course, there’s always the ability to get respite care and leave a little one behind, but I don’t think that would work well for our family.  It would stress me out to leave someone behind.

So other than Disneyland, we’re not going anywhere any time soon.  I don’t know when our next vacation will be and it’s so strange!

Our hope is that when we finally finalize something, we go on a big adventure as a family.  Thinking Disneyworld  and maybe a Disney Cruise out of Florida too.  I can’t plan too much but I’m already starting to price out my dream adventure.  Even just pretend plans are relaxing and help kill the time as we wait for a placement.  3 months, or 1 month adjusted (miscommunication mistakes) in case anyone is counting.

I’ll keep planning our big adventure and continue using our Disney credit card to earn Disney dollars.  Someday it will happen!
